March 18, 1933 – December 9, 2015
Mary, a resident of Gardendale, AL, passed away peacefully at the age of 82. She was a member of East Gardendale Baptist Church. She graduated from Phillips High School, class of 1951. She worked for Dr. George Parker for over 20 years and then Dr.'s Salter and Gillis. Mary had no children of her own, but she loved Curtis's children, her nieces and nephews as her own.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Vista Kendrick; her loving husband, Curtis Shipp and a brother, Billy Kendrick.
She is survived by her children, Meldre Poe (Tommy), Curtis Jr. (Melany) and Kylie Dudley (Steve); sister in law, Barbara Kendrick Tittle; grandchildren, Ashley, Megan, Holly, Brittany, Kristy and Amanda; great grandchildren, Madison, Lance, Blaine, Brooks, Jase and Kynlie; niece, Dana Robbins (Jamie); nephews, Steve Kendrick (Gwen) and David Kendrick; great nieces and nephews, Kandace (Chris), Kameron, Keaton, Tracy and Abbey, Trey (Kellie), Megan (Jason), Jordan (Amanda) and Kara (Matt); great nieces and nephews, Kaylee, Cooper, Alaya, Brooklyn, Brody, Bryson and Carson.
Services will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel on Saturday, Dec 12th, with a visitation to begin at 1:00pm; funeral service at 2:00pm followed by her burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
