PORTLAND - Anne L. Andrews, age 85, of Gorham, passed away on Dec. 10, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Portland.

Anne was born on Nov. 23, 1930, in Portland. She was the oldest of three children of the late Angelo and Stella Ingerowski Salamone.

She started working for Union Mutual Insurance Co. in 1948 just prior to her Deering High School graduation. She married Mark Andrews on July 28, 1951. They bought a home in Portland where they raised their daughter. In the early 1980s, Anne and Mark purchased a camp on Little Sebago Lake where they spent their summers.

After they both retired from UNUM in 1986, they made their winter home in Lehigh Acres, Fla., while summering at their camp in Maine. Anne loved to cook and entertain her friends and family. She was an active volunteer for the UNUM Retirees Group, and recently retired after 12 years of volunteering for the South Portland Food Cupboard.
Anne is survived by her husband of 64 years, Mark Andrews; her daughter Carol Olson of South Portland; her granddaughter Elizabeth and husband Sam Rider; great-granddaughter Lilah of Oak Harbor, Wash.; and her sister, Caroline Flaherty, of Kennebunk.

Friends and family are invited to attend a time of visitation on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, from 4-7 p.m. at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the St. Maximillian Colbe Catholic Church, 150 Black Point Rd. in Scarborough. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland. Online Condolences can be given to the family at:
