The death of George Bancroft occurred suddenly at his home in Prattsburg, Thursday evening, following a long period of ill health.
Mr. Bancroft was 77 years old on January 6, 1929, and passed away the 51st anniversary of his marriage to Augusta Voorhees, who with the following children survive him:May L., wife of G. Ward Pulver of Penn Yan; Miss Leona Bancroft of Prattsburg; Belle, wife of Martin Leckingen of Sodus; Ralph L. Bancroft of Philadelphia; Miss Marion V. Bancroft of Rochester and Robert S. Bancroft of Rome, three granddaughters and one grandson, Catherine and Robert Price of Sodus and Misses Charlotte and Clara Pulver of Penn Yan and one brother, Pitts May Bancroft of Canandaigua.
