Mary E. Tucker, 75, a resident of Garfield County since 1899, passed away at the home of her daughter, Bessie Atchison, with whom she has made her home for the past 13 years, since the passing away of her husband, the late Joseph Tucker, on Jan. 26, 1933. Death was attributed to complications following a paralytic stroke suffered on Jan. 14.
Mary Tucker was born at Ursa, Illinois on July 22, 1870 where she grew to young womanhood. She was married to Joseph Tucker at Ursa on July 22, 1892. She and her husband came west in 1899, settling in Garfield County, following farming for a livelihood, moving to Pomeroy following the death of her husband, to make her home with her daughter, Bessie Atchison.
Surviving are three daughters, two sons, a brother, 20 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. They are: Grace McKenzie, Bend, Oregon; Olive Parker, Lewiston Orchards, Idaho; Bessie Atchison, Pomeroy; Carl Tucker, Clarkston; Thomas Tucker, Bend, Oregon; a brother, Bill Taylor, Pomeroy.
Funeral services will be held from the Richardson Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Friday morning with the Rev. A. C. Hartley of the Christian church officiating. Interment will be at Pomeroy Cemetery.
