Janet Lee Thomas Jones, 71, died Sunday morning at her second home in Mooresville.

Born on May 18, 1944 in Friendsville, MD, she was the daughter of Zenas and Sally Rhodes Thomas.

She was a graduate of Garrett County High School. Janet was a former mail carrier, a former employee of Adams-Millis Textiles and currently a senior mail clerk with the NC Rate Bureau.

She was preceded in death by her son Thomas Fike.
