Clara M. Madding, 91, widow of the late J.D. Madding died this morning at 3 a.m. at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health for nine months and was confined to the hospital the past four weeks.
Mrs. Madding was born in Wellsville, New York, July 12, 1867, the daughter of John and Louise (Deschler) Gallman. She was a member of the local Methodist church and had lived in this community since 1916. Mr. Madding preceded her in death in 1935.
Three sisters survive, namely: Mrs. Grace Houser of Wellsville, New York, Mrs. Willard Conger of Rocky Mount, California, and Mrs. C.C. Longworth of Redondo Beach, California. Several stepchildren and nieces and nephews also survive. Hubert Madding of Bridgeport is a stepson.
