William Lee Archer, 79, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away October 7, 2015 at the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky. He was born in Dover, Ohio on February 25, 1936 to Columbus and Hazel (Mallet) Archer. He married Margaret Mast June 2, 1955 and she passed away November 4, 2011. Bill is survived by his two daughters, Cynthia (Joseph) Brocklesby, of Madisonville, LA and Sally (Randy) Moore, of Upper Sandusky. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jason Brocklesby, Ryan Brocklesby, Lauren Brocklesby, Jill Moore Karcher, Christopher (Heidi) Moore and great grandchildren, Wyatt Karcher, Owen Karcher, Jackson and Lincoln Moore. He is also survived by his sister-in-laws, Annabelle Archer, Maxine Archer and Carol Mast as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 4 brothers, Harold, Walter, Earl and Ralph Archer, and 4 sisters, Dorothy Williams, Myrtle Fair, Anna Archer, and Gladys Weimer. He graduated from Millersburg High School in 1954 and also attended The Ohio State University. He served in the Navy on the destroyer USS Beale from 1954-1958 where he traveled throughout the Mideast and Africa. He retired from the USDA Soil Conservation Service. Bill was a long time member and former elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Upper Sandusky. He was a member of the American Legion. Funeral services for William L. Archer will be held at 2 pm October 11, 2015 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Kenneth Wessler officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitations will be held 2 hours prior to service, from 12 pm to 2 pm on Sunday at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
