Death Comes To Everett Barnes, 77

Death claimed Aaron Everett Barnes Friday, March 5, at the age of 77 years. Everett was born November 8, 1887 near Douglass, the son of Joseph and Martha Duncan Barnes.

He was married to Florence Berger May 12, 1915. He was a member of the Douglass Methodist Church. He was also a member of AF & AM No. 151, the Order of Eastern Star, Woodbine Chapter 95, and the Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his wife, Florence; three daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Suits, Merriam, Kansas, Mrs. LaVerne Smith, Amarillio, Texas, and Mrs. Lois Mitchell of California; four sisters, Ella Hall and Mae Price of Douglass, Mrs. Emma Douglas of Des Plains, Ill., and Mrs. Hazel Nelson of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 8, at the Douglass Methodist Church. Services were officiated by Rev. Mrs. Ruth Eckel. Masonic committal services were held in the Douglass Cemetery. Hilyard Funeral Home had charge.
