Born November 19, 1915 in Grasonville, MD, he was the son of the late Clinton Barton and Lillie Mansfield Baker. After attending public school, he was employed by the State Highway Administration. During World War II, he served in the U. S. Army Air Force. Following his release from active duty, he returned to the State Highway Administration where he retired in 1978 as the Automotive Service Supervisor with over 40 years of service.
His wife, the former Dorothy Elizabeth Smith, whom he married in 1939, died December 16, 1996.
A resident of Easton since 1939, he was a member of American Legion Post 297, and The Loyal Order of the Moose, Easton Lodge 1520.
Mr. Baker is survived by three daughters, Bonnie B. Lyons and Lois Ann Chance, both of Easton and Gloria Jean Coe of Ft. Myers, FL; a son, Clinton B. Baker, III of Easton; three sisters, Adelaide Harrington of Easton, and Lorraine Haberman and June Collier, both of Queenstown; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Three sisters, Betty Thompson, Violet Varsotti and Lois Ellen Baker; and a grandson, Steven Hudson are deceased.
Funeral services will be held on Friday January 21, 2005 at 2:30 PM at the Easton Church of God, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Private burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Easton, MD.
