"Joel Speaker ,who resided in Brookville for the past 14 years, died at the County Home , Tuesday morning July23 aged 61. He was engaged in the blacksmithing business here, but his eyesight failing and finally going blind he was sent to the County Home, the immediate cause of death being paralysis. Surviving are the widow and 5 children. The children are as follows: Mrs.Waita Carrick of Akron,O. and Misses Iva , Irene and Ina, all of whom reside with their mother at Akron,O. Merl the son is in the Great Lakes Navy Training School at Chicago. "
