Services for Henry O. Applegate of 316 N. 13th Place will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in First Wesleyan Church. Rev. Orville Awe and Rev. Vernon Munson will officiate.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Rev. Applegate, 73, retired pastor of Wesleyan Church, 1800 S. 18th St., died at 1:15 a.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital.

A resident of Springfield for 36 years, he was born in St. Joseph.

He was a former employee of Allis-Chalmers Mfg. Co. and a member of the Allis-Chalmers Retirement Club.

Rev. Applegate retired as pastor in June after 8 1/2 years service.

Surviving are his wife, Flossie (Mefford); two sons, James of Camanche, Iowa, and Russell L. of Springfield; one daughter, Mrs. Samuel (Katherine) Allen of Springfield; one foster daughter, Mrs. Nancy Stachurski of Springfield; three brothers, John W. of Danville, James A. of Oakwood and Jesse M. of Springfield; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Estock of Oakwood; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
