Bonnie was born in Alma to Ruth and Glenn Mitchell. She was raised in St. Louis Michigan and was a longtime resident of Gratiot County before moving to Battle Creek, then to Harrison Michigan, where she spent summers and wintered in Barefoot Bay Florida. Bonnie passed away on November 13, 2015 after struggling with cancer, at her home surrounded by family and friends and her faithful companion, her dog Buddy. She enjoyed gardening, basket weaving, playing cards, and she loved shopping. She spent her winters in Florida where she was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church. She belonged to the WELCA organization through church, and she also participated in what we called the “lunch ladies” group. She was in a writing class twice a week to write her memoirs. She enjoyed traveling and had visited her stepdaughter and sister in law in Arizona. She enjoyed 25 years of marriage with her 2nd husband Howard Creque. She is survived by her husband Howard Creque of Harrison, children Terry Mayne of Harrison, Robert (Cheryl) Mayne of Alma, Julie (Paul) Goodman of Alma, Mitzie (Hector) Espinola of Alma and grandchildren Christopher,Angela, Tyler, Sydney and Gracelyn. She is also survived by two sisters Linda Nygren of Stanton, Glenda Knudson of Muskegon, a sister-in-law Beverly Mitchell of Alma and an aunt Betty Petro of Alma and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was proceeded in death by first husband Robert Vernon Mayne, parents Ruth and Glen Mitchell, and brother Kenneth Lee Mitchell. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the St. Louis Moose Lodge at 1 p.m. with a luncheon to follow.
