Graveside services were conducted for Lilly Smith Viator, 92, Friday, September 16, 2011 at 4 p.m. at Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery with Fr. Joseph Simmons officiating.
A native of Erath and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Viator died Friday, September 16, 2011, at 5:30 a.m. in a local nursing home facility. Lilly was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, taking pride in caring for her family. In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing, cooking and dancing.
Mrs. Viator is survived by her daughters Katherine Meadows and husband, Lynn, Christi Riggs and husband, Curtis; her son George Viator Jr., all of New Iberia; and her brother Chester Smith and wife, Ann, of Abbeville; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Viator was preceded in death by her son Raleigh Viator; her former husband, George Viator; parents, Claiborne Smith and Eugena LeBlanc Smith; sister Eula Dartez; grandson Raleigh Viator Jr.; and great-grandson Taylor Johnson.
