Arlene Bjorkman Halsey, age 78, of Russellville, died Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. She was born to Carl and Dorothy Libby Bjorkman, on June 18, 1934, in Oakland Park, Florida. Arlene was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and also the CWA. She loved to fish and garden, and was an excellent baker, and seamstress. Above all she was a devoted mother.

Arlene is preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Scottie Halsey, Jr.; and three nephews, Davey and Clifford Allison, and John Dwyer.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Hank Halsey of Russellville; two sons, Harold Carl Halsey and his wife Linda, of Florida, and Scott Halsey and his wife Leah, of Alabama; two daughters, Colleen Mangifesta and husband Tom, of Georgia, and Kathleen Romero of Missouri; three sisters, Carolyn Woodward of Florida, Connie Carroll and her husband Rufus of Florida, and Judy Allison and her husband Bobby of North Carolina; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Services will be held at St. John's Catholic Church in Russellville with the Rosary beginning at 10:00 a.m. and a Catholic funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2013, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. The family will receive friends following the funeral mass at the church hall.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. John's Catholic School, 1900 West Main Street, Russellville, AR 72801.
