Ronald Kent Peavyhouse, 72, of Evansville passed away at 8:46 am, Monday, December 21, 2015 at his home after a short battle with cancer.

A love letter from Becky to Ron: "It is with a very heavy heart that I must announce the passing of the love of my life. He was a one-of-kind person, with many dear friends and loved ones. The type of person, if you met him once, you never forgot him. So save me a chair my love, I will be with you soon. Until then I will love and miss you every single day."

Ron was born May 19, 1943 in New Albany, Indiana the son of the late Reverend Noble and Camilla (Ausbrook) Peavyhouse. He was a 1961 graduate of Henderson County High School and a graduate of North Trade School. Ron retired from Alcoa in 2002 after 31 years of service as a Machinist/Millwright. He was a member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church since 1997. Ron was also a member of Masonic Lodge #878 in Stanley, Kentucky, Scottish Rite, Hadi Shrine, where he had served as a clown, Sword of Bunker Hill and previously a Kentucky Colonel. He was an avid Gospel singer, singing throughout the tri-state as well as Israel and Greece. Ron had many hobbies, one being an auctioneer. He attended the Kansas City Auction School and was a licensed auctioneer. Ron used his talents to serve St. Jude Children's Hospital Charitable Auction at Washington Square Mall. Ron was also a licensed pilot to fly private planes.

He is survived by his beloved wife, who shared their 30th Anniversary on October 15. A daughter, sons and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Shannon Peavyhouse in 1983 and brother, Lester Peavyhouse.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Monday, December 28, 2015 at Vann Avenue Baptist Church, 2608 Vann Ave., Evansville with Reverend Dr. Larry Lewis and Reverend Robert A. Nall officiating. Burial will be in Free Union Cemetery, Sacramento, KY.

Friends may call from 1 pm until 7 pm, Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville where the Hadi Shrine will hold Walk Through at 6:30 pm and the Stanley Masonic Lodge #878 will hold a Memorial Service at 6:45 pm.
