NILES — The funeral was Monday at the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel for Joseph Max Kerr, 82, 2874 S. Main St., who died of heart failure at 2:20 a.m. Friday.

Born Jan. 11, 1912 in Smicksburg. Pa, he was the son of Joseph and Rachel (Cornman) Kerr.

Mr Kerr retired in 1974 from U S. Steel in McDonald, where he worked as a foreman. He was also a member of Evansville Baptist Church.

On Nov 6, 1937, he married Elzada Bertha Barnett. who died on Oct. 25. 1984.

Survivors include two sons, Keith Kerr of North Canton and Marvin Kerr of Martinsburg. W. Va , three sisters, Helen Jarman of Niles, Ada McClure and Jeanette McQuowen, both of Punxsutawney, Pa; three brothers, Ivan Brooke Kerr of Harlington, Texas, Dale Kerr and Donald Kerr, both of California; and three grandchildren.

Eight brothers and sisters are deceased.

Burial was in the Pineview Cemetery.
