David D. Sparks, 59, of Benton, Arkansas passed away December 21, 2015. He was born December 8, 1956 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late David L. and Betty Jo Sparks.

David was the owner of David Sparks Realty, Inc. He was an Eagle Scout, the highest ranking with the Boy Scouts of America. David was a member of the Sons of American Revolution. He represented the city of Benton as a Benton City Councilman. David was a graduate of University of Arkansas and earned a degree in Geology. He was an avid historian. He was a proud father and grandfather. David was especially proud of his 5th great-grandfather, Jonas Sparks, who helped settle Boonesboro, Kentucky with Daniel Boone.

David leaves behind to cherish his memories; daughters, Lauren Christine Sparks of Benton and Betty Amber Sparks of Benton; son, David Zachary Sparks of Conway; grandchildren, Jade Elise Sparks and Ruby Claire Sparks; brothers, Bart Sparks and wife Cindy of Cabot and Layton Sparks and wife Tiffiny of East End; sisters, Linda Gipson of Jacksonville and Debra Baker and husband Daniel of Maumelle; and many relatives and friends who loved David and will miss him always.

Reception visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 P.M., Sunday, December 27, 2015, Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, Arkansas 72015. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, December 28, 2015 at Northside Church of Christ, 917 N. East Street, Benton, Arkansas 72015. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas.
