Donald R. Harting, 71, of Olney passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Deaconess Gateway, Newburgh, IN

Don was born February 6, 1944 in Princeton, IN to parents Norman and Ival (Stewart) Harting.

He married Jayne (Vaught) Harting on Aug 29, 1965

Don enjoyed working with the public as an assistant manager at IGA in Olney, and he owned and operated the Ben Franklin store for eight years. He was a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church. In addition to enjoying outside yard work, Don took pleasure in fishing and gardening. He loved to play card and board games with his grandchildren. He was a reserved, loving companion for those around him, and he will be dearly missed by both friends and family.

Survived by wife of 50 years, Jayne Harting of Olney, son, David (Brenda) Harting of Leitchfield, KY, son, Randy (Carol) Harting of St. Peters, MO, son, Steve (Kristy) Harting of Vincennes, IN, daughter, Debi (Brian) Steber of Wentzville, MO, daughter, Amy (JT) Taylor of Olney, 12 grandchildren, brother, Larry (Judy) Harting, sister, Jean (Bill) Slater, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, and twin sister, Dorothy Stroud.
