Joseph Michael Alderman II passed away peacefully on October 15, 2015 at Brookdale Senior Care in Jensen Beach, FL.

He was 72 years old. Joe was born on November 12, 1942 in Pahokee, FL.

Active in the Boy Scouts of America at a young age, he received his eagle scout at age 16.

He attended Pahokee High School where he was a letterman in football, basketball, and track as well as yearbook editor in chief, student representative to the Pahokee Rotary Club, and Vice President of the senior class.

After high school Joe attended Florida Southern University receiving a bachelor degree in Business Administration in 1964. He was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.

Upon graduating from College, Joe came home to Pahokee to work for Glades Mercantile Corporation; the family business which was founded in 1934. Joe would eventually work for Glades Mercantile for 43 years.

In December 27th, 1965, Joe married [Lucy] Ann Caton of Meridian, MS. Ann passed away after 31 years of marriage.

They had 2 boys, Joseph Michael Alderman III and John Lee Alderman. Michael is married to Sheila (Sitzman) Alderman and they have 3 children Colton, Brooke Lee, and Charlotte Ann. John is married to Amanda (O'Keefe) Alderman and they have 2 Children Caton Avery and William Michael Hutchison.

On May 4th, 2006 Joe married his high school sweetheart Carley Bracewell Mackey. They lived in Okeechobee, FL and were married 9 years.

He is also survived by his step daughter Leigh Mackey Burnett (Sid), and three step grandchildren Stephen Burnett (Ceceilia) and their daughter Vivian, Erin Burnett Rodgers and her daughter Chloe, and Jason Burnett.

Joe was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, scuba diving, and fishing.

One of his greatest loves was to show other people the outdoors. He was very active in the Pahokee and surrounding Glades communities.

A 43 year active Rotarian he was also a Paul Harris Fellowship recipient.

The family will receive visitation on 10/20/15 from 6-8pm at Glades Funeral Chapel 1040 N. Main St. Belle Glade, FL.

Funeral Service will be held at the Baptist Church of Canal Point on 10/21/15 at 10:00am with a burial service at Port Mayaca Cemetery to follow. I
