Wilmer S. Andrews Sr. April 22, 1921 - March 10, 2007 Wilmer S. "Andy" Andrews Sr., 85, of Milesburg, formerly of Mount Eagle, passed away Friday, March 10, 2007, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born April 22, 1921, in Pine Grove Mills, he was the son of the late Allen and Mary Wilson Andrews. On July 18, 1945, in Howard, he married Emma L. Berry, who survives at home. Wilmer is a 1937 graduate of Spring Township High School. He worked at Warner Company for 45 years, retiring in 1986. Along with his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Ruth Crane and her husband, Dan, of Trexler Town, Sandy Carlson and her husband, Leroy, of Runville; Susan Hale, of Bellefonte and Robin Shellhamer and her husband, Scott, of Chester Springs; two sons, John Bechdel and his wife, Donna, of Port Matilda and Wilmer S. "Andy" Andrews Jr., of Bellefonte. He is also survived by two brothers, Earl Andrews, of Lacy, Wash. and Orris Andrews, of Bellefonte; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Andrews and a sister, Thema Andrews. Wilmer was of the Protestant faith. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. For his service, he received the American Theater Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the RR 600-68. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He loved to be with his children and grandchildren. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at Wetzler Funeral Service Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Brian Snyder officiating, followed by full military honors. Burial will be private, at the convenience of family, at Hays-Fearon Cemetery, Beech Creek. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Howard Christian Church, 367 Walnut St., Howard, PA 16841.
