Douglas Eugene Elkins was born in Coal Grove, Lawrence County, OH to Garland D. Elkins and Mary Sparling Elkins. Douglas was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict as a Master Sergeant and awarded the Certificate Of Valor. He was a supervisor in welding at Marion Power Shovel for 37 years and farmed for many years. He was a member of Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church, and enjoyed gardening, wood crafts, spending time with family, and church functions. Douglas was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Elkins. He was survived by her wife, three sons, one daughter, one brother and one sister.
