Eugene “Gene” Clinton Powers, 77, of Hawesville passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at his home. He was born on March 6, 1938 in Hawesville to the late James “JC” and Ada Whitten Powers. Gene was of the Baptist Faith, retired from Commonwealth Aluminum and loved to tinker on cars. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shannon Powers and a granddaughter Stefanie Kirk.
Survivors include his three daughters, Marla (Steve) Brown, LaDonna (Fiance`, Ronnie Edge) and Tina Kirk; two sons, Jeff (Cindy) Powers and Scott (Cheryl) Powers; 14 grandchildren, Brandy, Crystal, Cody, Karrie, Derek, Justin, Clint, Ashley, Micheal, Josh, Jake, Stevie, Tori and Erin; 14 great grandchildren; a sister, Vivian (Harold) Nall; a brother, Jimmy (Louise) Powers and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville with burial following in Serenity Hills.
