C.A. died at home on Friday, April 25 in the company and care of Loretta, his loving wife of 33 years. He was born in Sweetwater, Tenn to Neoma Frances Thompson and Columbus Abbitt Frank Sr. He was one of 12 children. He was raised in Tenn. and Virginia, and came to CA., at age 14. He worked with brothers on a dairy farm in Bakersfield before moving to Richmond, where he worked in the shipyards, and went to night school to earn his GED. At age 18 C.A. joined the Marines and served with the 5th Marine Div. in the pacific. He was an Iwo Jima survivor. After the war he returned to CA, and did numerous jobs before deciding on barber college, which he attended in Sacramento. He was a barber in Woodland for 43 years before retiring in 1993.

Between 1988-2005 C.A. and Loretta attended many Marine reunions throughout the United States with buddies that he had served with in combat.

His favorite hobbies were hunting, beekeeping, woodworking, and dancing. He also enjoyed gardening, yard work, remodeling, cribbage, ane traveling. Two of his favorite trips were Alaska and Australia. One of his favorite places to be was at the Hill Ranch in Capay. C.A. shot for the KLSC rifle team for 37 years, and helped to run the KLSC Jr. shooting program from 1956 to 2013.

C.A. is survived by his wife, Loretta Dee Frank; daughter, Theresa Andreozzi (David); stepson, Michael Felmley (Linda); grandchildren, Shalen Cook, Jacob Andreozzi, and Portia Felmley; sister, Margarite McDonald; sisters in law, Alice Frank, Marilee Frank, Donna White, Willa Fitzsimmons, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, King, Louis, Frances, Ernest, Ollie, Carter, Geneva, Sterling, Edward, and Kenneth, and his stepdaughter, Connie Cook. A big thank you for help with his care to Yolo Hospice and special friends, Roger and Roberta Peeples.

A memorial service, with reception following will be Sunday May 18 at 1 p.m., in the Woodland United Methodist Church, 212 North St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to WUMC, Yolo Hospice, Woodland Health Foundation, or donors favorite charity.
