Ernest Seaborn Hamblin, the last remaining son of the eightchildren born to Captain John C. and Maria (Tobey) Hamblindied after a brief illness in Roslyn, Long Island and buriedat Oak Grove. He was one of the three children born in a foreign port, while Mrs. Hamblin accompanied her husband on his travels as a whaling captain. Ernest was born while the ship was cruising through the Mozambique channel between the island of Madagascar and the coast of Africa. His sister Alice was born in Australia and brother Harry born in the South Sea Islands, Norfolk Island , off Zealand. Ernest was an electrician as were all his brothers. Daughters; Mrs. Walter Wright
