Army Pfc. McKinney was assigned to the 542nd Maintenance Company, 44th Corps Support Battalion, Fort Lewis, Washington. McKinney died from a non-combat related cause. She was run over by a fellow soldier who failed to stop and render aid. Several other soldiers found her later lying in the road. Hannah attended Arrowhead Christian Academy Middle School where she participated in school plays. She is remembered as good-natured and loved to sing and dance, but her most avid love was reading – she had read "Gone with the Wind" more than a dozen times. During her junior year in high school, she was accepted to the Fashion Institute of Design and Marketing but could not afford to attend the school right after graduation. In order to earn money for college, she decided to join the Army. Hannah is survived by her husband, Christopher, and son.
