She was born November 14, 1936 in Neelyville, Missouri, the daughter of Paul and Geraldine Shepherd Pigg. She married Bennie D. Spitzig. She later married Cecil Brock. He preceded her in death in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Larry Perren.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, Robert Spitzig of Abingdon and Richard (Mary Jane) Spitzig of Abingdon; one daughter, Lisa (Al) Llave of Galesburg; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sharon Brock of Neelyvile, Missouri and Anna Brushwitz of Arnold, Missouri.
She grew up in Missouri and later lived in Abingdon and Galesburg, Illinois. She retired from Maytag in Galesburg after 29 years of service. She was of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed cooking, baking and singing.
Cremation will be accorded. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel followed by a prayer service led by Mrs. Eleanor Landon.
