Dominic emigrated to the United States in 1902. He first went to Syracuse, New York to the home of 1st cousins. He then came to Ohio to work with the husband of his first cousin Antoinette Corapi-Zumpano at their family owned store in Belmont County, Ohio. He worked there until he had to return to Italy for his Army Service. He was inducted October 15, 1908. He served in Italy for 2 years. When he returned to Ohio from the Italy Army he continued to work at the family's General Store until he was called to serve in the United States Army WWI. He served in the 6th Infantry. He left the United States for France April 5, 1918. He arrived back into the United States July 22, 1919. He was discharged from service on July 31, 1919. He was awarded a Bronze medal for service at St. Mihiel Meuse Argonne, France. Dominic was gassed during combat and suffered long term effects to his lungs. He then continued on with the Zumpano family grocery store.(husband of his 1st cousin) Antoinette Corapi Zumpano. Dominic later opened his own store which unfortunately failed during the Depression. He later was given a Civil Service Job with for the Post Office which he kept until he retired. Dominic married my great grandmother Giavanna(Ann) Magistro Corapi April 20, 1920 at St.John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. They had 4 children in Bellaire, Ohio. They lived happily ever after until he died in 1963.
