PARKER CITY--Berdena Opal Grove, 93, passed away Tuesday morning, April 22, 2008, at Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born August 19, 1914, in Muncie the daughter of David and Acha (True) Winkle.
Mrs. Grove was employed at The Glove Shop in the Collegienne Store, Ball Stores, Ruble's Cleaners, owned and operated Parker Panther House. In her later years, she was prominent in several states for making antique lamp shades and covers.
She was a member of DAR and Westinghouse Sympathy Club.
Surviving are four sons, Kent Tuttle, Ft. Myers, FL, Michael Grove, Muncie, Gregory Grove, Parker City, and Buddy Grove, Parker City; several grandchildren; a very special friend, Julie; several great and great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Davy Lee Winkle (Becky), Columbus, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl H. Grove; two daughters, Dana Lowe and Penny Triplett-Wade; and her sister, Jewel Gibson.
Services will be held in The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday with Rev. Rusty Clements officiating. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Memory hours will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street chapel or one hour prior to services on Saturday.
