“I put head-stones up to my Grandfather and Grandmother’s graves (Nathaniel Russell and Lorinda Russell), also markers at the graves of my mother Ruth [Russell], and my little brother, George [Holmes Russell]. My father’s grave [Private Albert Russell]has a headstone furnished by the government. Also foot-stones at all five graves. We have a large monument on our lots bearing the names and dates of my father, mother, and brother.”
