Susannah H Green was born in England in 1818. She immigrated with her family to the US in 1832. On January 27, 1840, she married Thomas Jefferson Smith (1800-1856) in Morristown, New Jersey. Her death certificate states that she died in Philadelphia of consumption of the lungs on April 11, 1882. She was a 65 yrs old and a widow.
She and Thomas Jefferson Smith had six children in 12 years; only 2 lived to adulthood. They are Charles Frederick Smith 1840 – 1841; Emma Smith 1842 – 1849; Walter Jefferson Smith 1845 – 1924; Charles Edwin Smith 1846 – 1920; George Washington Smith 1850 – 1853; and Franklin Smith 1852 – 1852.
