A memorial service will be Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, Rock Hill, SC with the Rev. Shannon Long officiating. Burial will be private.
A native of Rock Hill, Sarah was the daughter of the late George Frank and Mabel Correane Black Starnes. Of the Methodist faith, she was a retired assistant manager of World Finance in Chester and a former sales agent with Kanawha Insurance.
Surviving are her husband, Frederick William "Bill" Hefner of the home; two sons, Frederick Aron Hefner and wife, Kimberly of Dallas, N.C., and Michael William Hefner and wife, Katie of Whitmire, S.C.; her daughter, Lucinda Hefner McKellar of Irmo, S.C.; two brothers, Alvin Starnes and wife, Narcie and Bennie Starnes, all of Rock Hill, S.C.; her sister, Carrie Mae Bell and husband, W.D. Bell of Dalzell, S.C.; and three grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Morris.
