Gusta Maxine (Maple) Brewner, age 85, passed away at 9:10 a.m. at the Fair View Nursing Center in Du Quoin, IL. She was born Aug. 17, 1914, the daughter of Gus Otto and Audrey (Harriss) Maple. She was a graduate of Du Quoin High School Class of 1932.

Maxine was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Du Quoin. She married William (Bill) Brewner on May 28, 1955 in Du Quoin.

Maxine was a residence of Barrington, IL., from 1958 to 1978. She was employed by Chicago Aerial Ind. as a cafeteria worker. She retired to Du Quoin in 1978.

She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin, four sons: Jack Eaton & wife Jackie of Burleson, TX, Dean Eaton & wife Peggy of Homewood, IL, Lyman Eaton of Peoria, IL, Thomas Eaton of Christopher, IL, two step-sons, Jim Brewner & wife Linda of Neosho, MO, Michael Brewner & wife Nancy of Du Quoin, nephew Kim Carter of Du Quoin; 12 grand-children, 21 great-grand-children, 2 great-great-grand-children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Thomas O. Maple, sister Ruth (Maple) Carter, sister-in-law Juanita Maple, brother-in-law Louis Carter.

Funeral services will be Wed. Feb. 9, 2000 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Bob Dickerson officiating. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Nearby Funeral Home in Du Quoin. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Du Quoin.
