KNABEL - Edward A. Sr., (Ed), 88, of Louisville passed away on January 2, 2016 at his home. He was an active member of Holy Family Church and a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Spalding Council. After retiring as a tool and die maker with General Electric, he spent his time enjoying his family and grandchildren, traveling with his wife and friends, and being of service to his community. Ed leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 61 years, Betty Worland Knabel; his five children Ed Knabel (Linda Ruf), Sue Knabel, Bob Knabel (Lauri Kinman), Terri Knabel, John Knabel; and six grandchildren, Andy (Celeste), Lauren, Kristin, Matt, Shawn, Robby; his sister, Theresa Knabel, SCN and brother, Albert Knabel. Please join the family in a celebration of his life with Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, with entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2-8 p.m. at Ratterman's Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road. Memorial gifts may be made to Holy Family's St. Vincent DePaul Society, 3926 Poplar Level Road, Louisville, KY 40213.
