Byard Wilmer Arkward, Jr., 83, of 12 Roving Drive, Lot 9, Cartersville, Georgia died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Waynesboro, Virginia on May 19, 1924, he was the son of the late Byard W. Arkward, Sr. and the late Jean Wilson Arkward. He was retired from General American Transportation Corporation as a railcar inspector. Preceding him in death are his sons, Lawrence and James Anthony Arkward.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ellen Lawrence Arkward; his daughter, Mary Ellen Arkward; his sons, Byard Arkward III, Jerome Arkward and Michael Arkward; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 811 West Ave., Cartersville, Georgia.
