WATERFORD - Abraham M. Caruso, 87, was the son of the late Luigi and Assunta D'Orazio Caruso, and was a 1947 graduate of Waterford High School. Abe had been employed for over 30 years at the G.E. Silicone Plant in Waterford, and retired in 1988. Prior to that, he worked at the former Eddy Valve Co. in Waterford.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Kavanaugh Hook & Ladder Co. in Waterford, and had been awarded a 50 year pin. He was a former Waterford town councilman. Abe was a member of the American Legion Mohawk Post 1450 in Halfmoon, the VFW Post 5800 in Waterford and the Waterford Bocce League.
He was an avid fisherman, golfer, and bowler and enjoyed playing cards. He also was a lifelong New York Giants fan.
He was the brother of the late Lena Torre, Ronaldo and Edna Caruso.
