Phyllis Loreigh Brunton, 92, of Germantown, Tennessee (formerly of Chicago, Illinois) quietly passed away Sunday evening, December 27th, 2015, after her stable health took an unexpected and irreversible turn on Sunday afternoon. She was living at the Gardens of Germantown for the passed 3 years and had also resided with her now deceased husband, Howard F. Brunton at Germantown Plantation. Phyllis was born to parents Maxwell and Avis Beach Minor on January 17th, 1923, in Robinson, Illinois. She has a surviving brother, Charles Minor, of Bellevue, Washington. After the war, (1947) she met and married a young soldier returning home, Howard Brunton. They were married 63 years and had 3 children: Ronald (Susan) Brunton of Escondido, California, Craig (Patricia) Brunton of Columbus, Ohio, and Kathy`(John) Linn of Germantown, Tennessee. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grand children. Mrs. Brunton will be laid to rest with her husband at the West Tennessee Veterans' Cemetery on Monday, January 4th, 2016. A private family ceremony will take place that morning before the burial. Charitable donations can be made to the Girl Scouts of America.
