A brief time thereafter Sergeant Crooks and J. R. Sanborn opened and conducted a provision and meat market business at Yankton. Crooks went from this point to Clarinda, Iowa, where he conducted a mercantile business. It was learned from most recent reports that he is living in the province of Columbia, Canada, comfortably situated.
