Wilfred A. Christianson, age 78, of Manitowoc, formerly of Valders, died Monday morning, June 19, 1995, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 1995, at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. Rev. William TImm will officiate with burial at Valders West Cemetery.
He was born January 7, 1917, in the town of Cato, son of the late Alfred and Tilda Torrison Christianson. He attended Valders Area Schools graduating with the class of 1936. He was formerly employed as the service manager of Larson's Garage in Valders for 14 years and was then employed by the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department for 22 years retiring with the rank of Lieutenant in 1974. He married LaVerne Behnke December 19, 1937, at Sherman Park Lutheran Church, Milwaukee. He was a former member of the Valders Fire Department, a former member and pat president o the Valders Lions Club, a member of the Wisconsin County Traffic Officers Association. He was very instrumental in the construction of the Viking Vila, serving as president of the board.
Survivors include his wife, one son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Dorothy Christianson, Milwaukee. He was a former member of the Valders Fire Department, a former member and past president of the Valders Lions Club, a member of the Wisconsin County Traffic Officers Association. He was very instrumental in the construction of the Viking Vila, serving as president of the board.
Survivors include his wife, one son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Dorothy Christianson, Menomonee Falls, one daughter and son-in-law, Deana and Jim Uggla, St. Cloud, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kerri, Susan and Brad. He is further survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Leona Christianson, Valders; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray and two sisters-in-law.
Friends may call at Faith Lutheran Church on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
