Rev. Father C.C. O'Brien, for many years the parish priest at Ivesdale, died at 6 o'clock Friday evening in St. Joseph's Hospital in Bloomington following a paralytic stroke. He had been in failing health for about a year.
Father O'Brien was responsible for the building of the Catholic church at Ivesdale. Fourteen years ago he went west and remained there until last year when he returned to Ivesdale. He had been there only five or six months when compelled to resign because of ill health. He was a priest at Merna, Il. at the time of his death.
He leaves two brothers, Phillip and William of Seattle, Wash.
Solemn high mass will be said at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at Bloomington and burial will be in Peoria.
