Maudie Lee (Moles) Case, 88, passed away January 3, 2016 at the Pawhuska Nursing Home. Maudie was born October 28, 1927 to Weepy Paschal and Virgie Lee (Gatlin) Moles. She grew up and received her education in Wynona. She then spent her time traveling to various parts of the country to live with and help her family members, some with severe illnesses. Maudie eventually returned to Wynona to care for her elderly parents. Maudie later married Jack Case of Pawhuska, where they made their home. They enjoyed traveling while promoting his small business. Jack preceded her in death in January 1989. A wonderful cook and compassionate person, her working career was spent helping others, during which time she worked in the food industry, house cleaning and assisting the elderly.
One of ten children, Maudie is survived by one sister, Nancy Tucker of Pawhuska, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters: Mary Moles, who died in infancy, Margaret Harding, Dora Thomas, Ola Mae Boyles and Ruby Dotson and 3 brothers: Phillip Moles, Weepy Jay Moles and William Hilliard (Pete) Moles.
Her greatest joy was caring for her family and although she had no children of her own, she considered everyone her child and she had a great hand in raising us all. Maudie loved everyone and made them feel special, and was affectionately known to most as Aunt Maudie whether related or not. She was a sweet and sincere lady who was greatly loved and loved everyone in return. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2:00PM, at McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. James Hager will officiate. Interment will be in the AJ Powell Memorial Cemetery, Hominy.
