Albert R. Anderson was a Private in Company "I" of the 29th Wisconsin infantry during the Civil War. Enlisting from Hartford, Dodge County, Wisc. on August 18, 1862, Albert probably was involved in several of the significant battles the 29th was involved with including the Battles of Port Gibson/Grand Gulf (Ms. on May 1, 1863), Champion Hill (Ms. on May 16, 1863), and possibly the Vicksburg siege (ending on July 4, 1863), all part of the Vicksburg campaign, before falling ill and dying on August 19, 1863.
