Doris Mary Deakyne of Lansdale, Pennsylvania died Monday, January 4, 2016 at Abington Health Lansdale. She was 97 years old. Doris was born October 20, 1918 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Edward Parkinson, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Parkinson (nee - Wallbruch). She is the beloved wife of the late Oliver Deakyne; mother of Roy O. Deakyne and his wife Marianne S. Deakyne and the late Richard Deakyne; grandmother of Theodore R. Deakyne and his wife Jennifer and Julianna S. Deakyne; great grandmother of Thaddeus Blake Deakyne; sister of the late Edward and the late Evelyn.

Doris was born and raised in the Fox Chase neighborhood of Philadelphia. She was a graduate of Fox Chase High School. She enjoyed playing cards and was a member of card playing clubs and participated in church social events. She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and enjoyed reading. Doris adored her husband and family.

Relatives and friends are invited to her graveside service on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.

Religious services will be conducted by Rev. Rodney Kopp.
