Connie Eileen Abels, the daughter of Samuel F. and Mary Ella Russell Charles, was born June 23, 1947 in Red Oak, Iowa. She died on Monday, April 11, 2005 following a massive heart attack at the Bryan LGH East Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 57 years, 9 months and 17 days. Connie was raised in the Red Oak area and graduated from Red Oak High School in 1965. She then attended University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls, Iowa. Connie moved to Omaha, Nebraska in l967, working a short time for a hospital and Lawyer before attending Travel and Transport school. Connie was a Corporate International Travel consultant for American Express Corporation. Connie was a member of the Hawthorne Methodist Church, Faith Rebekah Lodge and a Lifetime member of V.F.W. Auxiliary all in Red Oak. Connie was preceded in death by her father. Connie is survived by her two sons; Matt Abels and wife Mary of Omaha, Nebraska and Marc Abels and wife Brenda of Omaha, Nebraska, 4 grandchildren; Cheyenne Fox, Sage Fox, Denali Fox, and Noelle Abels, her mother, Mary Ella Charles of Red Oak, Iowa, a brother, Samuel Craig Charles and wife Cyndy of Ankeny, Iowa, nieces and nephew, along with other relatives and a host of friends. May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. At the Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Burial of Cremated Remains in Evergreen Cemetery. Janice Carlton, Officiating.
