Frederick Oscar Potter, 74, Lawson, MO passed September 6, 2006 at his home. Mr. Potter was born on September 28, 1931 in Independence, MO the son of Oscar and Pearl (Hershman) Potter. He and his wife June were united in marriage April 12, 1959 in North Kansas City, MO.
He attended William Jewell College and received his masters from University of Missouri.
He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He served as an honor guard at Arlington National Cemetery. He was in the Regular Army, and then the Army reserves for a total of 30 years of service to his country retiring as Lieutenant Colonel.
Mr. Potter was the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Missouri, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
He was an active member of his church.
Survivors include his wife June Potter of the home, two daughters Peggy Swaney and her husband Hal of Platte City, MO; and Dr. Judy Chandler of Lansing, MI, one brother Frank Potter; four grandchildren; one great grandchild.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one sister JoAnn Potter.
The family will receive friends September 8, 2006 at the United Christian Presbyterian Church in Lawson, MO with memorial services to follow. Private family burial will be held at a later date in the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Polley Funeral Home Lawson, MO.
