Joseph Robert Russo Jr, 60, of Texas City passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 8, 2016. Joe was loved by many and was a devoted husband, father and friend. He was born on the island and moved with his family at a young age to Texas City where he grew up and attended Texas City Schools and played all sports. He was married to the love of his life Donna Wheeler where they had two sons JoJo and Mitch. Joe was a lifelong employee of BP Amoco Chemical for 35 years where he spent most of his career in the I&E Department and then moved into the warehouse. Through his career he made many friends that he enjoyed working with. Joe loved sports especially golfing and was engaged with both his sons supporting their love for playing sports as well, and was an avid Cowboys fan. Joe was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Texas City, where he shared his love and faith in God.

He is preceded in death by his wife Donna; parents, Joe and Sophie Russo; and father-in-law, Robert Wheeler. He is survived by his sons, Joseph Robert Russo III and Mitchell Steven Russo and fiancée Alison Stinson; granddaughter, Brenna; brothers, John Russo and wife Wendy, Mark Russo and wife Tami; sisters, Stephanie Hilden and husband Axle, Donna Svoboda and husband Jim; mother-in-law, Margie Wheeler; sister-in-law, Tina Sanders and husband Karl; brother-in-law David Wheeler; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Joe will be deeply missed by those who knew him and loved him.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at St. Mary's of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, 1604 9th Ave N, Texas City, TX 77590 with a Rosary/Vigil to be recited at 7:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 11:00am with Fr. Dan Warden celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, Webster, TX. Pallbearers will be JoJo Russo, Mitch Russo, John Russo, Evan Russo, Mark Russo, and Axle Hilden.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in the name of Joe and Donna Russo.
