Born April 3, 1922, in Chicago, he died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at Northwest Community Healthcare. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
Mr. Abboreno was a carpenter for 45 years. He was an Army Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division during World War II. Sam was the beloved husband of Anna L. Abboreno (nee Chiparo); devoted father of Sandra (Thomas) Fletcher, Frank (Diana) Abboreno and Charles Abboreno; devoted grandfather of Thomas (Cathy) Fletcher, Richard Fletcher, John Fletcher, Ryan Fletcher, Joseph Abboreno and Sam Abboreno; and dear brother of Lena (Lawrence) McNamara.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home. Prayers for Sam R. Abboreno, 80, will be said at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Road at Northwest Highway, Mount Prospect. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church.
