After 81 years of a life well lived, Maxie Russell Baker said goodbye to his earthly home. He was born in Oklahoma City on July 1, 1934 to Bertha (Heard) and Frank Baker.
Max was the baby of a big family; he had five sisters and a brother, so there was never a shortage of things to do or orneriness to be had. Max loved to travel, Hawaii, Colorado and Las Vegas just to name a few favorite places. A great cook, he enjoyed grilling out and always had to make his special zucchini side dish to go along side. When he had the chance, time spent at the lake fishing was always a great source of relaxation. An avid OU fan, he supported his Sooners with great pride.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bertha Baker; first wife, Joyce King Baker; son, Rusty Baker; sisters, Marie, Lucille, Abby, Betty and Neva; and brother, Ray.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda Carol Baker; children, Michelle King and husband Kevin, Deric Baker and wife April; Linda’s children, Mark Hubble, Ronnie Hubble and wife Kristi, Melanie Smith and husband Michael; grandchildren, Kirstin Boykin, Ethan Baker, Austin King, Logan Hubble, Bryan Hubble, Easton Hubble, Kieran Overstreet, Cale Smith, Kennedy Smith and Aiden Hubble; and great-granddaughter, Kinlee Boykin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Resthaven Funeral Home and Memory Gardens.
