MICHAEL J. McDevitt
SOUTH DORSET - Michael Jerome McDevitt, 76, did at his home here Tuesday.
He was born in East Dorset Nov. 18, 1885, the son of John and Ellen (McGuigan) McDevitt.
Mr. McDevitt was a lifelong resident of Dorset. He was a communicant of St. Jerome's Church at East Dorset, and a member of the Holy Name Society of that church.
He was employed by the Vermont Marble Co. as a marble finisher at Danby, Proctor and Middlebury for 20 years. With his brother, William McDevitt, he operated a farm in East Dorset until 1928, and since then has lived in South Dorset.
He is survived by three nieces and four nephews.
A Requiem Mass will be sung at St. Jerome's Church, by the Rev. Joseph Connolly, pastor, on Friday at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Jerome's Cemetery in the spring.
Friends may call at Mr. McDevitt's home today and Thursday at their convenience. Arrangements are in charge of the Brewster Funeral Service of Manchester Center.
