Violet Anderson, 96 of Onalaska passed away on June 22, 2011 surrounded by friends and family. She was born to Henry and Clara Paulson of Tacoma on October 15th, 1914. She graduated from high school in Tacoma. She then attended the University of Puget Sound, Washington State University and then graduated from the University of Washington.
Violet, her husband Bill and her parents all moved to their farm in Onalaska in 1941, where they dairied until 1971. Soon after in 1974 the farm was taken over by her son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Liz Anderson. She had been active in the Lewis County Homemakers, 4-H, Lewis County Dairy Women and in her church. Some of her favorite things were playing cards with her family, gardening and watching the many birds that came to visit outside her window everyday.
She was known as Grandma Andy to most especially to her grandchildren, Joey Sherman and Willie Anderson and her great-granchildren, Dusty Glenn and Samantha Sherman. But she will always be little mother to her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Liz Anderson. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Our lives are all better just from knowing her.

A viewing will be held at the Cattermole Funeral Home in Winlock from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29th. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 30th. A celebration of her life will be held at the Onalaska Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 30th.
