The Oklahoman, Tuesday, Feb 13, 1940:
James A. Clark, 72, retired bookkeeper and an elder in the Presbyterian Church for 50 years, died Monday at St Anthony Hospital where he had been confined 13 months following a fall in which he broke his leg.

Clark was born Oct 21, 1867 in Sullivan, MO, and had been a resident of Oklahoma City about 20 years. A miller in MO, he came to Oklahoma and settled at Amorita where he lived only a few months before coming to OKC. He was connected with the old Garrison Mill here and had been bookkeeper for a city clinic seven years before ill health forced his retirement four years ago.

Since coming to OKC, Clark had been a member of Maywood Presbyterian Church where he was an elder. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 36, Eastern Star Chapter 10, and of Modern Woodmen. He lived at 2212 Lottie Avenue.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs J. C. Creamer, 1613 Marion Avenue; Mrs J. E. Cunningham, home address; and Mrs Vernon Curl, 9 SW 43 St; three sons, A. F. Clark, 904 1/2 NW 12; W. J. Clark, 4204 S. Harvey Ave; and J. C. Clark, Houston, TX; and 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and 5 grandchildren.

Rites will be 4 pm Tuesday in Hahn Chapel with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
